Glad to have you here. I miss the piney woods.

Welcome, from a fellow libertarian/Austrian/animal-loving/home-schooling Ron Paul advocate.

Sounds like you've got exactly the kind of place we hope to have someday.

Good To Have You. I grew up in Tyler. I worked at the Smith County SO before moving on with the State. My mom, daughter, son in law son, daughter in law, grandson, and granddaughter to be all live in Tyler. Good place.

Thank you all. :)

Since some of ya'll are from Tyler and know the area, I'd like to ask if you have a recommendation for good advanced training in Tyler? I'm certainly willing to drive to Dallas or beyond for good training, but would prefer local for obvious reasons.

Im originally from Longview, moved down here to Houston about 4 years ago.

Not sure of any good classes in Tyler. A lot of the good instructors sort of have a traveling show. As far as local, there is Paul Howe in Nacogdoches with CSAT.

Paul Howe has been there and done that, and what I would call a certified bad

Wiki on Paul: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Howe

I havent taken any of his classes, but I plan to one day.

Rick Cheek at Lock N Load located on the South Loop is a good man. I worked narcotics with him in the 80's. Also The Shootist located on Broadway. Mac Woods is a retired Marshall and holds classes.
