Number of people at Austin

Post by melkor41 »

I would have to look again to confirm but I beleave the report from the TSRA said that there were 40 (?) people working on the CHLs in Austin but the only name I have ever seen mentioned is Simone. In my two phone calls to the DPS I spoke to her both times and in this thread http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_F ... b43ff73534 the email was from Simone as well. I have also seen posts from others who said "well I just spoke to Simone and she told me..." or "Simone sent a letter saying they needed X information and..."

Is she the only person up there? Perhaps she is the only one who interacts with the public and the rest are just data entry. She deserves a cookie if shes the only person who deals with us all day long.

And I am glad they know they need to hire more people, give some more Texans jobs. I hope and pray it is not outsourced to a processing firm.

Jan Coffey is the manager of the CHL bureau, and most if not all letters go out in her name. I talked to a lawyer a couple of years ago, but I don't remember his name.

It would make sense to have a limited number of people talking to the public, so that mixed messages don't get out.

Hmmm, maybe they ALL go by "Simone" so as not to single anyone out...

I don't know if your kidding or not, but I have to admit to thinking the same thing. I sure hope so, because I politely asked Simone to not scream at me in an email and if she is a vengeful kind of gal I will be setting a new record wait on getting my plastic. :coolgleamA:

Maybe DPS has a sense of humor. Have you ever seen the movie "Simone"? It's about a digitally created "person" who becomes a world-famous actress and celebrity.
