STI Ranger II 1911 - Experience

I am basically a Colt fan. I have an opportunity to purchase a new STI Ranger II that is a good price. But, I am not much up for buy and then sell. I like the buy and keep ideal. Has anyone owned one of these and did you like it or not? Maybe compared to Colt, Kimber, Springfield, etc. . .
