UPDATE (May 2nd) - PRAISE GOD - Accident with a gun

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

UPDATE (May 2nd) - PRAISE GOD - Accident with a gun

Post by longhorn_92 »

Please pray for one of my small group leaders - her son shot himself in the leg (by accident). They rushed him into surgery last night. More details later....

Added to my daily prayer list. I hope for a quick and complete recovery.

I'm meeting with our small groups tonight and I'll ask them to pray as well.

Do you have any information on this boy's condition?

Sorry. No update as of yet. I left a voice mail for a friend to call me back - I will give updates as soon as I hear! Keep up the prayers!

It is awesome to know that we have each others' backs (in more ways than one).

It was touch and go throughout the night. He shot himself in the upper leg and hit an artery. The medical staff did an amazing job - from what I hear. He almost did not make it - then they were concerned about his leg not making it. He is doing as good as you can get with a gunshot wound.

Now they are concerned about an infection. Please keep praying for him - he is not out of the woods just yet!

I do have another update! This came from his mother:

"Thank you for all of your prayers. I know God has been watching over this whole situation - throughout this hospital stay. He is doing really well. He had reconstructive surgery yesterday and today he was able to get out of bed and take a few steps. Two weeks ago it would have been hard to imagine that taking a few steps would be so exciting. The doctors say if he continues without any infection or complications they may release him this week. Yeah!!! Once again God has continued to answer prayers and I am so very grateful. I hope I see everyone on Sunday and that things are back to normal."

God is good - Is He not?

Wonderful news!

I love how God teaches us through these trials, and glorifies Himself at the same time. May His name be blessed forever!
