Replacement Time Period

Post by soccerguy59 »

My wallet was stolen on 3/30 with DL and CHL. I went on Monday 3/31 to Tx DPS to get the DL replaced, received plastic in two weeks. I mailed by check and form CR-70 on 4/4 to Austin requesting a replacement CHL. It is now 5/4 and no replacement. I see the posts of the long processing periods for new and renewals, but why a long delay for replacements? I did not request to change any information, there should not be any need to research and review my information, check has been processed, any ideas on how to find out the status? I have called but was left a message, no return call. Anyone else have recent experience with a similar request for a replacement and the length of time to receive the replacement?
3/26/07 Plastic Received.

There is no way they can excuse this. Why cant they just print up another one? I think Charles is compiling a list of problems that need to be addressed by the next legislature. This should be one of them. You ought to be able to go to any DPS office and get it done just like a drivers license.
