New Timeline

Post by The_Vigilante »

So when does the actual waiting time begin. Once they have received the application? Once they have cashed the check? Once they have issued the PIN? Once they have begun "processing application"? Which is it? I guess my new revised timeline would go like this: April 17th-mailed application; Application Received: ???Maybe April 21st; Check Cashed: May 1st (why did they wait so long to cash it?); Received PIN/Processing Application: May 24th. As of today, still processing application-what a surprise!!!. How many more days here in the Waiting Room: God only knows! Has anyone received their license in the prescribed 60 days? I will be calling DPS 60 days from one of the dates above for a status check as well as writing my State Rep, State Senator, Rick Perry, and David Dewhust. It can't hurt.

According to 411.177, "the date of the receipt by the director's designee of the completed application materials" is the date when the counting begins.

By that reckoning, it appears that your "start date" should be about April 21, so the 60 day point should be about June 21 or so.

I should be on the same timeline. My return receipt shows that my packet was received on April 22nd. I haven't received any returned paperwork, (unsigned photos, fingerprint cards, etc) so I guess "no news is good news" at this point.

The operative word in the above statement is "completed". In our case, Mrs. Oldgringo's application was complete after she had submitted four (4) sets of fingerprints - some 160 days after initial submission. Mine was complete and approved in 60 (+/-) days. Go figure?

Good luck.

Makes no sense, that's for sure. :headscratch I think where we are going wrong at is trying to make sense out of a senseless situation. I just try and not think about it... :confused5...very hard to do. :banghead:

Good Luck!

The clock starts when they receive a complete application. If they don't start working on it until five weeks later, the clock started when they received a complete application. Expect 3-5 months if there are no problems.

3-5 months is unacceptable!!!! You can bet they will be hearing from me a lot sooner than that and it will be every week!
