status catagories

DPS received my application over a week ago and my status is still, application mailed to applicant. Has any observed the catagories and the length of time at each?

These days, you should expect at least a month from the time they receive your application until the web site says "processing application" -- if you're lucky. I have the impression that the web site is worse than useless.

It's going to be a long road. Look at some of the existing posts in the "Waiting Room".

I did not apply online, but it was a little over 8 weeks before I received my PIN so that I could even view my status.

Yes, it is going to be a very long and hard wait... I'm afraid. But, you are in good company here and there are a lot of good folks here that are willing to help in any way that they can.

There's no evidence checking the website slows down your application. It just seems that way.
