Background Checks

This seems to be one of the main hangups preventing fast issue of the concealed carry licenses. Now whether this is the FBI background check or the local background check is a good question. The FBI is probably backlogged with applications from Texas and all of the other states that use them. I don't know who handles the local background checks (local DPS office, maybe) but if the local DPS office is in a large city, they are probably backlogged too. Having to check all of the financial records has got to be a pain. How many of you have been told "all we are waiting on is the background check."?
