Prayers for Family Killed in Car Accident

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Prayers for Family Killed in Car Accident

Post by Keith B »

Prayers are needed for the family, friends and members of our church, Custer Road United Methodist in Plano, on the loss of one of our church families today. They had just left our 9:45 services this morning and were about a block away from the church when a driver ran a red light. The car broadsided their mini-van, killing the two parents, their 12 year old daughter and two young foster children. They were good friends of ours and very active in the mission work of our church. We, along with the other members of our church are just devastated. Please keep the family in your prayers as they deal with this sudden tragic loss of one branch of their family tree.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

I have lifted this up to The Lord!

My heart aches - just reading this...(may it be a reminder to all of us that life is precious and that we should Never take life for granted. Unfortunately, we do take it for granted - too many times).

May God use this to Glorify His name.

May it also be a reminder to look both ways at intersections. Having a green light (and the right of way) doesn't mean it is necessarily safe to proceed (as evidenced by this event).

What a terrible loss!

As someone has already said, my heart aches, also. I pray for this family and their Church family.

What a tragedy. I will pray for all of you. Even for we Christians it's so hard not to ask "why?" Yet through the grief, we reach for our Lord and the comfort that only He can give.

Thanks everyone. This was heavily covered on the Dallas news channels last evening. They still have not released the name of the other driver. There apparently is more to the fact than just running a red light, like very excessive speed from the other driver. The vehicle went air-born after hitting a curb and fire hydrant before striking their van. Not sure if other things like medical condition or drugs/alcohol were a factor, but the investigation is continuing.

This is going to be a long hard road for their immediate families, and also the extended church family. We appreciate your continued prayers for strength and comfort in this time of great sorrow and terrible loss.

It was also mentioned on the 10 o'clock news by Houston's Channel 11 last night.

Very Sad.

This was in the Chronicle today with a picture of the van. That car must have been going incredibly fast.

Prayers sent for the family and all they touched through their lives.
