CCI 350 in .45 ACP

Post by rm9792 »

What happens if a .45 ACP is reloaded with a CCI 350 magnum primer? Boxes look alike and I loaded about 200 this way. :banghead:

That depends on how hot the loads are. Magnum primers give about 5%-10% more bang, which will raise the pressure.

4.3-4.5 grains of bullseye, recommended load is 5.0 so i am not close to hot. I really dont want to deprime 200 cases.

Shoot 'em! :fire The magnum primers are OK with a non maximum load. Some IPSC shooters use small rifle primers in their .38 super loads to make major. Also, a buddy of mine goes to shoot in a winter match in Colorado and loads all his ammo with magnum primers to help ignition in the cold.

Shouldn't be a problem.
However,
I would shoot through a crono and inspect the casings for any signs of a hot load.

In between Austin and Lampasas. If you blink at the wrong time, you just missed it

You could just send me the reloads in question, and I will test them for you, no charge. Save on gas money that way
