Unclaimed Money?

Post by LedJedi »

Yes Virginia there is a Santa Clause,

and his name is http://www.missingmoney.org/

I was really REALLY bored at work and watching endless video clips from msnbc.com until I saw a clip where a reporter dug up unclaimed money for a bunch of people. Some of it was small change but some of it was pretty sizable. One couple had over $2k in an account they had forgotten about years ago.

I did a little searching online and found the missingmoney.org website, did a search on myself and found $90.30 from State Farm in 2001 that was a premium refund I didn't know about and $50 from Best buy that was a Rebate I never got (So that's what happens to all those rebates...)

I searched for my wife and a few friends and didn't find anything else so I guess I just got lucky (or unlucky that I didn't get that $$ years ago when it was owed)

They direct you to an official texas website where you download a printable form and send off for your claim. You have to provide a copy of your ID and, of course, a stamp and envelope but other than that it's free.

I'm mailing mine off tomorrow :)

Lets see who can beat my $140.30

how is this relevant to guns?.... what do you think that $140 is going toward!

Well....it turns out that the Texas Department of Criminal Justice has reported that they owe me some money (under $100). I rubbed my hands together thinking that they were going to pay me for my sanity...finally!!

Turns out that the Comptroller has no record and they have squat to send me. They were rude and quickly told me that they had no affiliation with the listed website.

This was likely one of my Warden's last farewell to later reach out and irritate me one final time :rolll

It worked.

Less than $100.00 in my PayPal account, which is still active - I have to wonder where they get their info.
