complete 180 degrees

Post by saj111 »

last september at a family reunion the subject of guns came up and sister #2 (i have 3) asked brother in law #1 (retired leo) if he carried still. his response was yes, so does he (pointing at me) and them, pointing at his three grown children.
she went into a tizzy; why, what are you afraid of, etc, etc? my response was that she should pick up a newspaper or internet news at least once a day and pay attention. she couldn't get her mind around it. i should mention she is 61.
fast forward to this past weekend. while she and i were visiting my parents on the same weekend she mentioned she has been listening to two radio talk show hosts in the dallas area who are pro chl and highly recommend people should learn to handle guns and get their license. she floored me when she said she and her husband were considering getting theirs.
when i got able to speak again, she started asking questions. intelligent questions!
do any of you know what radio show she was listening to? what station? i'd like to listen on the internet to learn what turned her around. i wish austin had something chl friendly on the air.

Not a likely occurrence in a Liberal bastion like Austin. (Part of the reason I moved from there 25 yrs. ago)

I think she may have been listening to Russ Martin on talk radio 105.3. I believe he has a CHL and has stated people should be licensed and carry. However, here is an interesting new development concerning him http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_F ... 83&t=17590

Could also have been on "Gun Talk" on XM radio. I think that it is channel 146 and usually plays on Saturday evenings. You could also go the guntalk.com website and download the pod casts.
