Do any of you guys have any tips for obtaining the Utah CHL?? I have read that a few other states are covered and am interested in getting one! I understand that a state approved class must be taken, do you guys/gals know of one in the Houston/Galveston area? If so, how much does it cost?
I already have the NH license.....any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide!
Jason

Try RBI Defensive Firearms Training (utccw.com) offering the Utah Non-Resident permit class online.
Here's a brief overview:

Must use IE
$119 (does not include permit application fee of $59 to the Utah BCI)
Contact info:
1-800-852-5504 Monday thru Friday 9 to 5 (Mountain Time)

Better to perish in struggle for freedom than live to see defeat.
Anyone know if they take an existing Texas CHL for the safety and familiarity requirement?revjen45 wrote:Try RBI Defensive Firearms Training (utccw.com) offering the Utah Non-Resident permit class online.

I know Utah BCI has a list of instuctors on their website (out of state instructors). http://bci.utah.gov/CFP/CFPHome.html When i did my Texas renewal, they signed off on the application for Utah and provided an extra picture and finger print card for $20.00. Send me a PM if you want the instructor's contact info. You might can google the names from the BCI site to see where everyone is located (or tell from the telephone numbers on the site). The instructor i used was in Richmond.
As far as Tips go, I included a copy of my Texas CHL with the application and recieved the license in about 1.5 weeks. It was pretty quick and painless.
