JJ herold holster

Post by k6gixx »

I just recieved my holsters from jjheroldholsters.com. He is located in MO I think and makes a combination kydex/leather holster called the confidence. The kydex insert is attached to a leather pancake for an awesome IWB holster. I ordered it for my Gov't 1911 and the gun disappears when I put this on. Made very well and the price is right at $55. I would recommend JJ to anyone looking for a good holster for an inexpensive price. His customer service is awesome with timely responses and even better results. :patriot: :tiphat: :hurry:

Let me know how your clips hold up; I have that same holster for my PT-99, and the one with a spare mag slot for my 1911. Both sets of clips died after about 2mo, so I made some new ones out of sheet brass. If he's refined the clip-making process, I might have to order another set from him and see if they work better on my Wilderness belt, as the brass likes to catch on the edge of the Velcro on the belt.

The holsters themselves are excellent, though. My 1911 is all steel, and I don't even notice the weight with a good belt. Either gun will tuck under a dress shirt just fine, too.

It is a very nice looking holster indeed. One improvement that I see is needed (and would keep me from buying his holsters)is he needs to use thicker Kydex. The holster bodies appear to be very thin and may be the problem with failed clips of the previous poster.

It seems very similar to the Crossbreed SuperTuck, which I always considered a copy of Tucker's Answer.

Well it should have taken about 2ish weeks door to door, but there were some shipping difficulties. It came to be about 7-8 weeks. One not his fault, the other an honest mistake. But he made it right and was in constant communication to resolve the issue. :anamatedbanana

I don't have a problem with the holsters themsevles; the PT-99 one is sturdy enough, and the 1911 one uses leather all around the gun. I think the issue was possibly something in his bending process for the clips, as all of them failed right at the top 180deg bend.

I have been carrying every day since I got this holster and I must say it is the most comfortable I have tried yet. Full 8 hour days are a breeze and the clips are holding up nicely. :hurry: :thumbs2:
