I have recently gotten into reloading 9mm, I have a lot of info on 9mm 115gn range ammo and have tested and shot my own loads. I have recently purchased a box of Hornady 147gn hollow points. In looking at the bullet it is greatly different in it geometry. according to my book (hornady's 07 reloading guide) there is less powder but I can not find the info on how deep to set the bullet in the brass and best practice for the overall length recommended.
Any guidance or documents would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance all

Re: Reloading 9mm Questions
Look up http://www.reloadammo.com/rel-powd.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. This is a pretty deep website that I came across over the weekend. You may find your answer/s here. Good luck.
Re: Reloading 9mm Questions
The OAL depends greatly on the weight of bullet: I set some at 1.150 and some at the standard 1.169
Re: Reloading 9mm Questions
The Hornady Reloading Manual should specify OAL for each of their bullets. Also, you might try measuring the length of a factory load using the same bullet.

Hodgdon's has various load data using the Hornady 147 XTP/HP bullet. OAL 1.260"

Thanks all,
I think I got it all worked out, I'm going to the range this weekend for a test.
I loaded the powder to the lighter side of the scale for this first run.
