Hmmm....
What's the saying: "You can't cheat an honest person." Greed gets 'em almost every time.

If they got that much from her, why do they keep writing to me?
I usually just tell them they do not meet MY requirements for participation and start asking them to send me $150.00 so I can free up the money, etc, etc, etc.
There's times when it's fun to wrassle with the pig.

Maybe next week she will respond to the Nigerian Swimming lessons email... The one where they ask you to tie bricks to your feet and jump off a pier.

That's hilarious, Russell. I may try this on the next person that scams me.
I do feel sorry for the lady, but the writing was on the wall, and then some.

I can't remember the last time I got one of these emails.

Re: Woman sends $400,000 to nigerian scammer
I wait until I have several Nigerian offers in my inbox and then when I have time I'll send a reply to one using the return email address of another. I write that I'm very interested in helping, please write back about the next steps. As I can easily forge a return email address, I have the scammers writing each other.
If they invoke the name of G-d in their letter, I'll write back that the Lord spoke to me and they will certainly be punished for using the name of the Lord to cheat people. As many of them are religious, I've heard this really ticks them off and even scares some of them.
If you want to take up scam baiting as a hobby, check out http://forum.419eater.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or http://www.ebolamonkeyman.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (PG13 warning: some of the pics may have NSFW captions). Be sure to check out the trophy rooms for pics of what some of the scammers have been willing to do to demonstrate their sincerity.
I'm particularly amused at how they always have to use a title with their name, Mrs. Dr., Mr. Barrister, etc.

Here is the last one I did, and the "woman Nancy" actually responded and thought I was being serious. does this sound serious to you?

Hello NANCY!!
Thank you for your email!
That sounds great!!
We can meet on the corner of Long Juan Dan St. and Monkeyback Dr.. Bring the cash
in a brown paper bag and drop it in the trash can at the corner. Then after you look to make sure you were not followed, take 10 steps to the left and then another 10 steps to the right. Once you complete those steps there will be a man, in a brown coat. He will ask you where the rainbow goes, you will answer to the pot of beef stew over at Johnny's. He will then let you into the door. After you enter the door follow the hallway about 11 steps to another area . There you will meet a fellow named Osso Lanvinklewitchle, he will request you to tapdance the appropriate code. It goes as follows. Rhara ta ta ta .... ta.. ta.. tap tap dadle dap tap dap map cap sap blap! blaaaaam! clap. Mr. Osso Lanvinkewitchle will then give you the laptop. Be careful as you do this because it will be very dangerous due to the large problem with wild monkeys and ant eaters here. My uncle told me one time he was down at the bridge and this woman told him it was 11:00, kind of a strange story if you ask me. By the way, you really should watch out with those bananas sometime, they will make you slip and go ouch!
There is a secret code to the into the laptop it is
843jhb8bhj4inb9g894nh2n9bu9n39943nb9qa03n1ljkn1kj4kj6klj357jkl3657kjh23kbnh54tr2fdytgf42fgsd52p35p6oihj413ugh23j6kj236jkh2gfv2f4t6gfv;1k34j6b;
You will need to remember this code by heart and repeat it into the microphone in order to unlock the computer.
Anyways, ill see you on the street with the clown car and pretzel!
yatzi!
Have a nice day !

It isn't stupididy, it's greed. She saw all those dollar signs being dangled in front of her eyes and started salivating so hard she couldn't see the obvious red flags.
Like why is the President, the director of the FBI and the UN getting involved in your inheritance from some long-lost relative? Like, if you have some long-lost relative you don't know about, they probably don't know about you either. Like why don't you just take any necessary fees out of the $20.5 million and go ahead and send a cahsier's check for what's left?.
Greed, plain and simple. Ms. Spears got what she deserved; it's just a shame that her greed hurt her whole family.
What's really scary is that this woman is not just a nurse, but a nursing administrator which means that she manages people and budgets.
