LOS ANGELES — Dr Pepper is making good on its promise of free soda now that the release of Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" is a reality.

The soft-drink maker said in March that it would give a free soda to everyone in America if the album dropped in 2008. "Chinese Democracy," infamously delayed since recording began in 1994, goes on sale Sunday.

"We never thought this day would come," Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper's vice president of marketing, said in a statement. "But now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."

Beginning Sunday at 12:01 a.m., coupons for a free 20-ounce soda will be available for 24 hours on Dr Pepper's Web site. They'll be honored until Feb. 28.

Dr Pepper is owned by Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Inc.

As long as I don't have to listen to the album...I'll buy a Dr. Pepper!!

If you consider giving them all your personal info so they can spam you "free" and don't mind waiting the 6-8 weeks for the coupon, then yeah, go for it.

Actually, the coupon will be on the website. Print and Download.

Now, what I wish is that we could use it for a Dublin Dr. Pepper! That's the best!

What's wrong with GNR?

The only thing wrong with GNR of the 90s is Axl Rose. Unfortunately, he is the only original member on this new album.

You can actually listen to the entire album on MySpace (from what I've heard). I'll probably take a listen to it today.

I heard it yesturday.... sounds kinda washed up to me. Buckethead is the only reason I actually listened to it since he did most of the guitar work on the album. Truthfully I was expecting ALOT more. If it takes you 14 years (or however long) to create an album, it has to be a master peace.

I am a musician and audio engineer, and I was not impressed at all.

Can you print as many of those coupons off as you want? :evil2:

I need to get some of that Dublin Dr. Pepper. I haven't had a Coca-Cola since the "New Coke" fiasco, but I do like Mexican Coke when we have the chance.

Local Sam's Club carries the Mexican Coke by the case.

Sometimes they stock Jones Cola as well. It's very good. Pure Cane Sugar Soda.

Not ours, or we'd buy some. :grumble

We can buy them for a reasonable markup at a local Latino store, though.

Jone's Cola is good as well and is made with Sugar instead of corn syrup. Tastes more like RC though instead of Coke.
