SARASOTA, Fla. — Three Sarasota teens have been charged with kidnapping and aggravated battery after authorities say they violently attacked their friend because he refused to join them in plans to rob a home.

The 17-year-old victim says he was forced from school into a vacant home, ordered to strip naked and beaten in the legs and genitals by three friends Tuesday morning. He escaped through a window and asked a neighbor to call police.

Manatee Sheriff's spokesman Dave Bristow says three teens were charged in the beating. He declined to give further details because the suspects are juveniles. The Associated Press is not naming the suspects because of their age.

Manatee School Superintendent Roger Dearing said the four students were close friends.
