Help finding an article...

I am looking for an article but I cannot seem to find it as I do not recall all the details.

I believe it was some time in the past year. The article talked about a teenage boy who was assaulted by two men who had broken into the home. The boy’s injuries were severe and permanent in nature. The Father/Home owner shot and killed one of the assailants. The prosecutor planned on charging the one assailant who survived the ordeal with his accomplice’s murder even though it was the home owner who shot the bad guy.

Do any of you recall this? Can you either provide me a link to the article or give me more details so I can find it?

I believe that's pretty standard. If anyone (including a perp) dies during the commission of a felony, the rest of the perps are charged with murder.
