Cache of Weapons
From ESPN: Authorities seized a small cache of weapons and ammunition from the New Jersey home of New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress, multiple New York media outlets reported Wednesday, possibly setting up the embattled player for more legal trouble.
The New York Post, citing anonymous law enforcement sources, said a 9-mm handgun, a rifle and ammunition for three other guns -- a .380, a .45 and a .40, the same caliber of gun Burress accidentally shot himself with -- were seized during the execution of a search warrant at Burress' home in Totowa.
Wow. A pistol and a rifle is considered a cache of weapons. I would hate to see what they called the contents of my safe.

Re: Cache of Weapons
A "cache of weapons" is the medias definition of 1 or 2 evil guns in you possession.
Hey, they should come down here to Texas, most Texans carry more than he had to Wally world.

Re: Cache of Weapons
I guess that means I generally have a cache of weapons on me.

Re: Cache of Weapons
I'm not an attorney but what gives them the right to take his weapons from his home? Has he been convicted already?

I haven't seen it but I bet the search warrant lists firearms.Hos wrote:I'm not an attorney but what gives them the right to take his weapons from his home? Has he been convicted already?
"Ees gun! Ees not safe!"
Re: Cache of Weapons
I don't recall exactly but I think they were "Tipped" and got a warrant to search.
Re: Cache of Weapons
A Cache seems a fair claim if it was squirreled or hidden away somewhere. It was referred to as a 'small' cache after all.
It does stink that they actually raided his home.

Re: Cache of Weapons
I guess mine would be considered hid away too, since my revolvers are in a rack in a bottom drawer & all holsters in a box beside them. Cant see them at all when the drawer is closed.
I am sure glad I live in Texas.

Re: Cache of Weapons
Foxnews reports that the "cache" was taken to see if each weapon was registered.
Oh, that explains it...

Re: Cache of Weapons
Well, it's NJ... so they probably discovered the one he SHOT himself with wasn't registered.... that and some "tip off" that he had more unregistered guns, and away them come looking for trouble.
NJ has a history of going out of its way to hassle gun owners no matter WHO they are, like fining armored car companies for having drivers and messengers with hollow point ammo (and stopping every armored car they could find just to check the ammo... it was a $1000 per ROUND fine... And they also spent a bunch of time busting NY Cops who where driving from or through NJ on their way to work!

Re: Cache of Weapons
Yeah, they'd love us Texans.
Several shotguns (12, 20, & .410 like daddy bear, momma bear, and baby bear) and a couple of bolt action rifles in the bedroom closet (at least one of the shotguns stays loaded) - check.
Kimber Ultra CDP II .45ACP on my hip - as soon as I get it off layaway, very very soon now.
NAA Pug .22 Mag in my pocket - check.
Smith & Wesson Sigma .40 S&W on my hip (to be retired to nightstand when I get the Kimber) - check.
Mini-14 .223 under the back seat of my truck - as soon as I get it off layaway, tax return time.
I'm thinking about a SIG P226 in .357SIG for the console of my truck for when I can't reach my carry gun under my shirt/strapped in the seatbelt, or just for when I venture out for whatever reason without carrying on my hip.
Not an "arsenal" like I'm sure many members here own, but a "small cache" just about everywhere I turn.

Re: Cache of Weapons
A knife block in the kitchen is a cache of weapons. A box of rocks is a cache of weapons. A parking lot full of cars is a cache of weapons. The media just doesn't get it.
I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961
