Hello everyone. I need some help with a holster. Just got a XD45 4". Looking for a OWB paddle in leather that rides high/tight. Having a hard time trying to make a decision. Just got rid of my SA Micro Compact that I carried in a Kramer horse hide paddle. Very nice and comfy combo. However the Micro could not not be relied upon. That's another story.................. I need some ideas.

Re: XD 45
I have thought about that as well. Since using a leather holster before, I have became somewhat spoiled to the comfort level they provide. So how many of you use a OWB leather paddle with the XD? Thank you locksmith for the Fobus idea. I might consider trying one out. I did get a Black Hawk Serpa Paddle to try out, and talk about printing! My 9yr old can spot it right away. And thats with a very large baggy T shirt on. I need some moore input. HELP!Locksmith wrote:Check out Fobus. I have 2! One for my Kimber UCII, and one for my Glock 30SF

Re: XD 45
FWIW, I carry a USP Compact sometimes, and one of my holsters for it is a Fobus paddle. While its true that it doesn't conceal as well as my Minotaur MTAC, for instance, I've done a number of "wally walks" using the Fobus, and I've never been made. However, that is with a light jacket on over my shirt. Also, your 9 year old is looking for a gun on you. Most people aren't. Anyway, I just ordered another Fobus for my 5" 1911. I have another holster body to fit my MTAC on order for it, and I am looking for a longer term leather OWB belt holster solution; but for a $25 investment, and as a "quick and dirty" solution, I've found the Fobus paddle holsters to be a pretty good solution that works reasonably well in a pinch.

I think I'll give the Fobus a try for the fun of it. If it works out, cool. If not, I'm not out a lot of money. I will report back on whatever I try. So far the Black Hawk is not one for concealed carry in my situation. Although it makes for a great field holster and should do well as a service holster also. Thanks for the suggestions guys. Keep'em coming!

Take a look at the Galco M5X Matrix.zx9rt1 wrote:Hello everyone. I need some help with a holster. Just got a XD45 4". Looking for a OWB paddle in leather that rides high/tight. The Matrix holsters are well made, and the price won't put a big hole in your wallet. They're not leather, but neither is the Fobus, and they're not as stiff as Kydex.
Keep in mind, too, that printing is very much affected by where you put the holster on your belt. Moving it an inch or two forward or back can make a big difference.

O.K., heres the deal. Ordered a Don Hume H721 OT and a good "gun" belt. Looks like this is going to be the best route for me. Should have everything by saturday. Will update on fit as soon as I can.
