Is there a word that combines lame and wussy?

Yes!

Twitter!

However, if you care to get in touch with your feminine whatever, enjoy.

+1

I believe if someone was to ask me in a serious tone if I wanted to twitter my initial instinct would be to take extreme offense to the offer.

I think it's one of those generational things. It used to be social networking was face to face. Now it's electronic and around the globe. I think this forum is about as close to that as I can get. I don't spend much time online, but I do like the convenience and can understand the allure of the www.

Considering the heart break of a broken nail (it thimply ruins my day) and the difficulty finding an all around good moisturizer, (my elbows are so dry...) well, phew, I know I can probably find out what to do and where to go at Twitter.

It's so reassuring and empowering.

Some of you guys here have it all wrong, or you just have a dislike for internet technology.
Companies like Comcast , Dell , General Motors, H&R Block, Kodak, and Whole Foods Market are among a handful of companies haunting Twitter to do everything from burnish brands to provide customer service
Hsieh has encouraged his employees to use Twitter, even posting a guide to using Twitter on the Zappos site. He says using Twitter can help employees to get to know one another and create a cohesive corporate identity. "Initially it took a bit of commitment because nobody had used it," he says. "Twitter has helped with our company culture." Today, more than 400 employees Twitter at Zappos.
Its either something you like or you dont, dont hate :)

Nothing personal Dihappy. It truly is a case of different strokes for different folks.

When I retire I am going to take my cell phone into my garage, put it in the vice and tighten the jaws on it until battery guts spew out of the dead deformed plastic. Cell phones are pure evil and illustrate how civilization peaked back in the '80s and continues down the coriolis induced swirl in the global toilet and perpetrates the rudeness that is the bane of today's society.

I do use a PDA and the internet and find some technology and certain information a valuable tool.

Having a bunch of people tell me when they pick their nose or have a deja vu moment is a bit much. When I turn things off and am in my cave I prefer to be left alone and those that have shared an abode with me before know it and understand, although it did take many years for them to be convinced that "the look" was from focus and concentration on what I was doing. Sometimes I will let the phone ring and just don't answer it. I am in my world and if I do not invite someone in do not bother me.

Why people insist on inviting so much interference into their private time is beyond me. I really do not understand.

When I retire in the not so distant future, I will shoot my phone. I don't know how many holes I can put into a phone until there isn't any phone to put more holes into. But I want it gone. Cell phones are man leashes.

LT, there are probably lots of man-caves out there.

Over the holidays Mrs. Anygun purchased a bunch of those plug-in scented oil things for the house. She likes the house to "smell fresh". It gives me a headache. Evidently she went overboard.

Shortly after Christmas I went into my cave and noticed a potent girly scent in the air where usually it is scented with distinct notes of Hoppes #9 along with the pleasant aroma of diesel fuel and exhaust overtones.

She had plugged those dadburn scented oil things in my garage/shop outlets! I screamed "Infringement!" as I pulled them out and stuffed them in the garbage. At least I wanted to.

**sigh**

Well there you go, you have it all wrong.

You only "follow" the people or news that you want to and you can stop following at anytime you want.

Its no more "invasive" than having any Joe blow dial your phone number at any time of day.

I only follow the people i want, mostly friends and family, with a few news sources as well.

If anyone starts telling me when they "pick their nose" they will be turned off, but then, i wouldnt even add those kinds of people to my twitter.

As far as "private time" goes, i have plenty of that, but im a social individual and frequently surround myself with friends and family.

Twitter is one social networking thing I have managed to pass up on until now. I think I'll keep passing. I've already got a facebook account and a vibrant church life. How connected do I need to be?
