Trouble often comes in threes...

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

Trouble often comes in threes...

Post by quidni »

Shauna asked me to relay a prayer request for her step-mom, Mrs. Harber. (I don't know her first name.) Shauna's folks were out of town visiting friends, and her step-mom fell down a flight of stairs. She broke one ankle, and apparently broke some bones in her other leg as well. She'll likely need surgery to help repair the damage, and will probably be in a wheelchair for a while.

Shauna herself was looking and sounding a bit better when we saw her yesterday afternoon. Her surgeon should be back in town this evening so hopefully we'll hear something other than "wait and see" soon.

Many, many thanks to everyone for all the prayers lifted up because of this forum - not just for Shauna and her family, but also for everyone else who comes here for the comfort and encouragement.

Will definitely being praying for Mrs. Harber and Shauna for a full recovery and most of all the peace of God in their hearts, and that He will reveal Himself to them in a might way.

Update -

Mrs. Harber's ankle will definitely need surgery; the docs are saying they need to put a plate in place to help it heal. The good news is the other leg wasn't broken; apparently it was just a very bad sprain but it will take time & rest before she can use it.

Shauna's still in the hospital. The docs moved the drain for the abscess; apparently the thing is huge and it wasn't draining properly. Willy should be home from his Mom's funeral in San Antonio tomorrow.

Thank you all for the continued prayers.

Thank you all.

Willy is back home; Shauna was released from the hospital to go back to her aunt's home while she heals. She's still not doing great... but I haven't been able to go see her as I've been fighting off some kind of cold/sinus/whatever nasty, and her immune system is compromised enough now as it is that she shouldn't be exposed to anything however remote the possibility of contagion is.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to speak with them this weekend & get further updates.

Shauna made it to church this morning, and while she's not 100% yet she's cleared to go back to work.

The principal at the high school where she works pulled a fast one while she was out, and said she'd "missed too much time" with her health problems; basically fired her... fortunately, someone "upstairs" in the school district likes her, and she had no problem signing on to the Alternative Ed School as a math teacher there.

Mrs. Harber is apparently doing better as well.

Thank you for all your prayers on their behalf. I know they've been effective.
