Just Ordered - Bullman Gunleather PDL IWB Holster

Post by PUCKER »

A buddy of mine has a Bullman PDL IWB Holster for his H&K P2000. I'm a firm believer in "Try Before You Buy" (as you might have read in the Cabela's Gripe thread). The other night I was able to try his PDL with the H&K on...WOW...talk about comfort! I've been using a FOBUS OWB with my Kimber Compact Aluminum...it doesn't feel to good on the old skin, it digs in. Well, the bodyguard makes a WORLD of difference. So, called Bullman up and ordered one. It's a 6-month backlog but it will be worth it.

From their website http://www.bulmangunleather.com/newproducts.html:
PDL-Professional Dual Loop
The PDL is for the professional who must carry concealed for extended periods of time. This simple design is very stable and extremely comfortable. The flat profile and lack of a bulky sewn on stiffening band create a very slim profile. The holster body is pre-curved so that it is comfortable right out of the box. The widely spread loops make this model extremely stable. The PDL features removable dual loops with One Way Snaps®, a generous molded sight channel, and a bodyguard. As with all of our holsters the PDL is precisely hand molded to the make and model of weapon it is ordered for. (Shown in Mahogany)
Available: Most autos
Order: PDL
Colors: Black and Mahogany or Natural (rough out)
Price: $90.00

I haven't seen any of your other posts regarding holsters, etc, but I want to add that a REAL gun belt can make all the difference in the world.

I bought a IWB Sparks for my DW 10mm and it was nice, but uncomfortable. I then bought a Beltman belt........best decision ever. A holster is only as good as the belt holding it up.

Beltman belt is super nice and about 70 bucks shipped and it took 35 days to get here (they make it to your liking)

Appreciate the info.

Wife and I were cleaning an old dresser out last night, came across 3 old holsters.

1 - Uncle Mike IWB holster for Glock or similar, it was nice and soft, felt-like - thought I'd give it a shot for my Glock...I pick it up and notice the counter has little black dots ALL over it...apparently time is not kind to this holster/material...in the trash it goes - must've been a reason I forgot about that one!

2 - Uncle Mike OWB Tactical Style Holster - my old hunting sidearm holster (as in open carry), still in good shape, just a little dusty. Keeping that one.

3 - Leather Don Hume IWB for Colt 1911 - either I bought it for my Kimber or it came with it, can't remember, it's at least 10 years old but in PERFECT/LIKE NEW shape. Decided to give it a shot, wearing it right now. Not all that comfortable, it's rather bulky and doesn't seem to be as good as a paddle-style IWB, at least for me.

UPDATE - it's been over a year since I ordered (January 23, 2009) and no holster for my Kimber as of yet. Called up Bullman yesterday, all I got was the answering machine, left a message inquiring about the status of my holster/order/etc. with no response yet. Checked the Bullman website, it has this message on the homepage:

"In order to catch up on our backlog, we are not taking any new orders at this time. Thank you."

I did a little google-fu and found out that I'm not the only one in this same situation. I was told it would 6 months but folks on other forums are in the year plus situation like me. The good thing is that I did NOT pre-pay for it, I'd be pretty steamed if I had, that's for sure. The ironic thing is this, after this amount of time, and me buying a Crossbreed for my Glock, I'm considering buying a Crossbreed for my Kimber and cancelling the order...but with no communication with Bullman, well, that probably just won't happen...I guess customer service is a dying art. I'll give it a little bit longer and see what happens.

Well, much to my delight, I just received a phone call (had to let it go to voicemail, you know, with work and all LOL) from Josh Bullman, he left a nice message apologizing for the length of time, said he should be working on it this week or next and it would be in the mail. :cheers2:

Two thumbs up!

Well guys, I'd like to think that :biggrinjester: , but he's in PA from what I recall, not that he doesn't do a google-fu search to keep tabs on internet chatter. Either way, I'll take it!

I received my Bullman holster a few weeks ago, but I didn't get to "use" it until today as I just picked up my Kimber from the "gun spa" (reblued the slide, night sights and new plunger tube). It's a NICE holster, VERY comfy, conceals well too!
