Aging Charles Manson...Remember Him?

Aging Charles Manson captured in prison photo.

For those old enough to remember, they say that this event marked the ending of the
"Flower Child" hippy movement.

I know it marked the beginning of my love affair with Mr Browning's 1911.

Yeah, I do.

I was living in northern Nevada when he and his cult got caught. Manson's prosecutor, Vincent Bugliosi (sp?), wrote a book entitled "Helter-Skelter" which IIRC, is what the gang wrote on someone's wall or refrigerator in blood. It was a good read of Manson's nefarious exploits.

How do I remember this stuff from 40 years ago? :banghead:

It irritates me that he's still breathing. He was sentenced to death, but the U.S. Supreme Court ruled the death penalty unconstitutional. His sentenced was commuted to life in prison, so they couldn't kill him when the death penalty was reinstated. Prison for him is no penalty; he loves it there.

I wish I could be a spectator when he faces the true Judge.

Yep, I'm afraid I remember that, too. I saw that picture of him this morning on Fox. He is still creepy...especially the eyes. :eek6

Have you ever heard the saying that "the eyes are the window to the soul"? Look deep into Manson's eyes and you will see nothing.

Agree w/ all the above. Remember it well.
He should have been exicuted immediately.
If he had been a guy named William Aires (sp) may not have been so bold.

Yes, you are not alone.

I recall reading that early in his incarceration that another prisoner tried to set Manson on fire; hundreds of people then sent that prisoner cigarette lighters...

From the photos, Manson did not age well in prison. But then his victims did not age, period. Manson paid small price for what he did.

And it all would have turned out so differently if one of the victims in that house had been armed. Well, not for Manson...he didn't even have the guts to be present while his followers were carrying out his orders. I wonder where the remainder of the cult is. "Tex" and the girls. are they dead yet???

And I was living in Los Angeles County. My ex wife was actually threatened with death by Bobby Beausoleil, a Mason family member, shortly before he was arrested for the Hinman murder. No charges were ever filed as she was so scared of him she didn't want to talk to the police about it.
