More on "Bowgate"..... Obama and the King

Post by TxD »

The White House is denying that President Obama bowed before the Saudi King, committing a major mistake.
"It wasn't a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he's taller than King Abdullah," said an Obama aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Looks like a bow from here.

bHo perhaps thought he was reaching out to muslims and showing them his respect and tolerance, but his abject ignorance actually was far more offensive than anything he could have otherwise done.

Bowing to other human beings is frowned upon in Muslim cultures as all human beings are considered equal and bowing is only supposed to be done to God in Islam. Moreover, he bowed to perhaps the least respected leader in the eyes of most Muslims/Arabs.

All around this was a bone-headed mistake that reveals just how clueless our President is. :eek6

And who in here would have expected anything less from Obama? Seems to me that he KNEW exactly what he was doing. Where it will lead US (United States), those cards haven't been played yet.

He didn't bow for Queen Betty, and she's a lot shorter than the Saudi King.

At least I can say this for the guy .... he didn't 'print' when he bent over. :biggrinjester:

Seriously, the White House's obfuscation of the bow speaks volumes about whether or not anyone in there is deserving of our trust.
