USA Today Gun Poll

Post by dehalter »

Gun Issue - Open Immediately

This gives you the right to make your opinion heard.  It takes 5 seconds It is still a live link. Our new Attorney General has already said this is one of his major issues. This takes literally 2 clicks to complete.

Please vote on this gun issue question with  USA Today. It will only  take a few seconds of your time. Then pass the link on to all the pro gun folks you know. Hopefully these results will be published later this month. This upcoming year will become critical for gun owners with the Supreme Court accepting the District of Columbia case against the right for individuals to bear arms.

First - vote on this one.

Second - launch it to other folks and have THEM vote

 - then we will see if the results get published. Vote in the USA Today poll - click on the link below.

The Question is:
Does the Second Amendment give individuals the right to bear arms?  Vote at link below:

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in California has ruled that the 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms is "deeply rooted in this nation's history and tradition" and long has been regarded as the "true palladium of liberty," so it therefore must be applied against state and local government weapon restrictions as well as federal gun limits.

"The right to bear arms is a bulwark against external invasion. We should not be overconfident that oceans on our east and west coasts alone can preserve security. We recently saw in the case of the terrorist attack on Mumbai that terrorists may enter a country covertly by ocean routes, landing in small craft and then assembling to wreak havoc. That we have a lawfully armed populace adds a measure of security for all of us and makes it less likely that a band of terrorists could make headway in an attack on any community before more professional forces arrived. Second, the right to bear arms is a protection against the possibility that even our own government could degenerate into tyranny, and though this may seem unlikely, this possibility should be guarded against with individual diligence."

I think this poll has been introduced and debated here before, including the somewhat poor wording "give individuals the right to bear arms?"

The Second Amendment protects a pre-existing right, it doesn't give anything.

I smell vote stuffing. 2.2 million votes already? I guess that's internet polling for you. I predict they'll take it down because of this and then people will start crying liberal censorship of "the truth".

Does USA Today have room for a poll besides all the pictures and comics? Do they have text at all?

Once you go to that poll, look at the URL in your browser and you will see that the poll was from November 2007!

Now, as to if they ever published the results is questionable. It is in fact still an active poll and at 96% Yes. Also, you can vote as many times as you would like to.......

USA Yesterday has to have a lot of pictures and comics to attract the average fourth-grade education most Barack Obama supporters possess.

Their poll means nothing.

Good for the 9th circus. Can't believe one of their own got it right. Was he drunk?

Bet they kick his butt off the court.

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

The 2nd amendment does not grant anything. It is a RESTRAINT on government.
