It just followed me home

Post by RECIT »

I walked into Fountain Firearms this Saturday with my Armalite A2 in hands wanting to sell it, or trade it for something else I wanted. I have two other ARs and no need for a plain jane model. So I was in search for a SOCOM II or SOCOM 16. The sales guy at Fountain laughed a little and said he had not even seen one since October. I have seen a few on gunbroker but they are asking a little rich for my blood. So I asked him if he had anything else that might tickle my fancy and he went to the back and brought out a Rock River Arms LAR-8. Its a nice AR10 style rifle that accepts FN FAL mags. It also has ambi mag release and bolt release. It was not a model of rifle I was very familiar with, but made a few phone calls and did a little internet research over the phone with a friend and they offered me a good trade on my Armalite A2 so I split the difference on my debit card and this beautiful rifle followed me home. I don't have any sights or optics for it yet so I have not been to the range. The optics in the picture are off of another weapon I just wanted to snap a few shots with it looking proper.

Now I'm jealous. :grumble

I want an AR10 in the worst way, but I can't figure out how to make that happen without giving up one or more of my current collection, and I don't have much disposable income at the moment.

. . . .can I have yours? :smilelol5:

Sorry I can't give it away but we can all drool over it. I am drooling over it daily until I get to shoot it with sights or optics. I forfeited one of my AR's and I have a CETME for sale that is the current optics fund. I too had to give up some of my stash to get my hands on this one.
