I'm roughly halfway through his "The World Is Flat" and until this point I found almost no political theme, (other than occasionally mentioning former President Clinton in a positive light) but, now he's constantly criticizing former President G.W. Bush and pushing a rather refined approach to national health care.
Most of his book up til this point has been exceptionally detailed and informative regarding our current economic status - Essentially regarding India and China and the not so distant future economic threat they present to the U.S. and how if we don't produce more engineers and scientists we'll find ourselves so far behind them as a world force, we'll be giving up our lead to our utter detriment.
He's no Chicken Little!
Most of what he says in this economic regard is grounded in common sense.
Some of his criticism of Bush seems to make sense i.e., the budget cut in the science foundation. But, I'm not that informed about this cut, so it SEEMS to make sense to criticize, given how badly we need to promote science education...
Anyway, who here knows about his credibility?
Thanks!

Freidman has established credibility in his editorials published by the New York Times. But then, the New York Times has it's own credibility problems, especially in the opinions section. Friedman has been one of the better writers there.
