The bad news is that the range is STILL closed from the fire. The guy at the front told me they didn't expect it to be open for at least another month. He also told me that the fire was caused by someone shooting black powder when they weren't supposed to be.

The good news is that they no longer require CHL holders to allow them to put a lock on your gun when you walk from the front of the store to the range. Their previous company policy was that, unless you were law enforcement, you had to check your gun at the door where they would put a trigger lock on it until you got to the range. Of course, this was easy to get around by carrying two guns...one in your range bag for them to lock and your carry gun where it's supposed to be...concealed. But, I still didn't like that policy and complained many times about it.
Anyway, I started to complain about it again yesterday and I was informed that the policy had changed. Now, if you are law enforcement or a CHL holder you do not have to check your carry gun. They still want you to check any other guns you have with you though.
Thought I'd share.
