Dallas July 4 Tea Party
Is anyone planning on going to the July 4 Tea Party at Southfork Ranch?
Anyone know if it'll be kosher to carry there? I would assume they won't be posted, as the Tea Parties are all about liberty, but would like to be certain.

I didn't really want to do that in case they weren't going to put up 30.06 signs - because they didn't think about it - but if a call brought it to their attention, then they would. I also didn't want to give them a chance to tell me "No" and thereby give verbal notice.

My local chapter (waco) is going, trying to get 20K+ there,
Isn’t it at southfork? If there not posted it’s a non issue.

Carrying at a tea party on the 4th of July? I can't think of a more apropriate day or event to carry,. It should be mandatory.

As of about 3pm today none of the outside entrances at Southfork were posted.

Re: Dallas July 4 Tea Party
FYI - I found this FAQ regarding the tea party on their site http://www.dallasteaparty.org
I'm disappointed about the "no pets" thing. I was really wanting to bring my dog - it's her first 4th of July!
What can I bring?/What am I not allowed to bring?
‐ Bring your FRIENDS and FAMILY!
‐ Bring your patriotism and show it off!‐ Signs and banners are acceptable provided they do not obstruct other patrons’ views of the stage or risk causing injury.
‐ Bring what you can carry in and plan to throw it away or carry it out.
‐ Coolers, picnic baskets are allowed HOWEVER NO alcohol or glass containers will be allowed.
‐ Sorry, NO pets will be allowed
‐ All coolers, purses, bags and containers are subject to search before admittance will be granted
‐ Bring something to sit on (blankets, folding chairs)
‐ Bring sunscreen‐ please cover up, wear hats.
‐ SHADE‐ There is no existing natural shade in the seating areas. Lo‐Profile Umbrellas will be allowed in the General
Picnic Seating Area (within 250 feet of stage), Pop‐up style tents will be allowed in designated tent areas (behind
the General Picnic Seating section)
‐ There will be exhibitors offering products and crafts for sale. Food & Beverages are also available for purchase‐ If
you are planning on buying something cash is king‐ (2) ATM’s will be on site.

Re: Dallas July 4 Tea Party 30.06
The Dallas Tea Part was posted 30.06.
I sent this message to the organizers as well as Jeff Bolton and JD Wells:
I was at the Dallas Tea Party with my grown daughter. We enjoyed the presentations and perhaps the best fireworks show in the area.
But I almost did not get past the gate. I am a CHL holder. I expected to be able to exercise my right to self-defense at, of all places, a freedom rally. Those 30.06 signs at the entrance really ticked me off. Had I been alone, I would have turned around and driven the hour or so back home. As it was, I hiked hack to my car to disarm. A 30.06 sign at any establishment means one thing to me: Not Welcome.
I don't know whose decision that was, but I will not attend another such function where my right to carry is denied.

Re: Dallas July 4 Tea Party
I am totally surprised!
Excellent letter and I am in full support of your position.
One would think that a get together with the focus of a "Tea Party" would openly welcome those who choose to exercise their 2nd amendment rights.
Thank you for letting Mr. Bolton and Mr. Wells know how hypocritical their position is.

Both those guys are pro-RKBA and CHL holders.
I suspect the organizer is the one needs the education.
I wrote him/her/them also. I'll post any replies here.

Re: Dallas July 4 Tea Party 30.06
That's odd. I was there, and I never saw any 30.06 signage. I carried all day long. I entered the property through the gift shop off of the VIP parking lot, and I actually got there about 30 minutes early. Maybe they didn't have the signs up yet? We had Cool Zone passes, and I never saw any signage between any of the Cool Zone entrances and the gate into the main event area over by the motor home with the medical aid station behind the stage, nor was there any signage at the entrance to the VIP parking lot. We got there at about 2:30 p.m.Rex B wrote:The Dallas Tea Part was posted 30.06.

RESPONSE:
Dallas Tea Party to me
I agree with you. The Parker police put up those signs. I apologize about the signs and that will not happen again.
We are staunch 2nd Amendment supporters! Proudly so! The 2nd Amendment is the only thing keeping us from being France!
Phillip Dennis
The signs were stuck in the grass in front of the main entrance tent, immediately at the South end of the 3 permanent "barns"
I think there were a total of 6, 3 copies in English, 3 in Spanish, black on white.

Re: Dallas July 4 Tea Party
Now I'm surprised again. I appreciate the response from Mr. Dennis and am encouraged by his support for CHL's but I don't understand how the Parker police have any authority to put up 30.06 sinage without approval from the event organizers.Rex B wrote:RESPONSE:
