What the Heck

I have been waiting 165+ days. I have only called 2X because I did not want to be too much of a pain. I did call last week and talked with someone who assured me that all they are waiting on is the background check, and all the other things (fingerprints, pictures, forms) are good. Today I check my status and it says "Application incomplete - missing information - detailed letter has been sent." I need to take another trip to the range to let off some steam... or I can just drink.

Why can't they tell me what is wrong on line so I can start fixing it and get it sent out monday. This process is so messed up it makes you forget that it is state run and not federal. :banghead:

if i were you , i,d be on the phone first thing monday morning and demand to speak to the technician handling your app.

i'm sure you already plan on doing that. :rules:

i may be mistaken , but i think i recall someone with the same thing that happened to them , only to check again the next day to see the status was back to "processing application "

it was like some sort of " glitch " in the system or something. ( no surprise ) :totap:
i hope that is all it is for you.

please keep us posted of any further developments regarding this matter . :tiphat:

Yeah I will be on the phone monday morning. And they are not lucky, because I am off all day monday and the wife and kids are out of town, so I have all day just to be a thorn in their sides.

I thought this was going to be a great day. woke up this morning put 300 rounds through some paper 150 of which were from my new S&W 915 that I was shooting for the first time, then came home cleaned both of my babies, Holstered the S&W so I could walk around the house and get comfortable with her. Then I checked DPS site and now I want answeres and it is not their normal operating hours.

Oh well, what can I do.

Seems that the "LAW ENFORCERS" should be better at ....well...upholding their own law! This is a greasy wheel moment!!!!!!

Letters, 1st class postage, to her state representative, state senator, Gov, Lt. Gov and head of DPS AND the CHL Mgr. got Mrs. OLdgringo her plastic after a 160 days of governmental er, uh...job and pension protection at the lower levels.

E-mails and phone calls to clerks and gofers get you nothing; as in,"if it ain't in writing, it didn't happen".

I would call both your state representative's office, and the governor's office. Sometimes phone calls get results.

Alright, I just got off the phone with those yahoos, and they tell me that they need two forms of proof that I am in the military. Apparently my ID copied front and back is not good enough, and the fact that my home adress where they are sending me a letter is Lackland Air Force Base.

I asked if that meant that everything else was good to go, as in background checkes and what not. He said no we have not even begun to process it. We cannot process an incomplete application.

Seriously it took from mid january til July 3rd to realize you needed more information from me. :fire :txflag:

Wow! What a living nightmare! I feel so badly for you. Sorry it's happening.

Absolutely inexcusable! It takes them almost 6 months to tell you some paperwork is missing???? Un-believa-ble!!

What do they need from you??? A letter from the base commander, a letter from your state senator and congressman, notarized and signed in blood???

I'm not you, but if it were me, I'd be on the phone to my state congressman and senator, emailing, and doing follow ups on both until you get this resolved. :mad5 :mad5 :mad5

I believe that what they need from you are a current LES and a copy of your orders posting you to your current assignment.

Good luck. Unfortunately, this officially resets the clock on your application for DPS, since they count time as processing from the time they receive a COMPLETED application.

The fact that it took them 165+ days to even figure out that they were missing this, and haven't done anything else with it, is RE-FREAKING-DICULOUS!

I'd be on the phone with any and every representative and senator that answers, as well as the DPS.

Technically, by law, you were denied at 90 days when you got nothing from them at all about anything. You may be eligible to join in the big thing that Charles is working on.

Good luck!

I am on day 102, so I too have gone past the 90. What is "Charles" working on. Point me to the right thread, please.

{*** SIGH ***}

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't your received e-mails go away when you highlight them and press "delete"? Likewise, isn't your phone conversation concluded when you hang up? Do y'all really think it's any different in anyone else's house/office/world?

A written letter/request/confirmation never goes away. It is a record that can be reproduced and demands recognition. Do y'all get my drift? :headscratch
