Driver Shot, Crashes into Freeway Wall

HOUSTON - A man is fighting to live after he is shot while driving on a north Houston freeway.

Witnesses told Houston police that at approximately 1 a.m. Friday one driver had followed a Dodge pickup truck on Interstate 45, the North Freeway, and then swerved to the driver's side of the truck near the Cavalcade Street exit.

The Dodge truck quickly veered to the right and crashed into a retaining wall.

Investigators discovered that the 40-year-old driver of the pickup truck was shot in the head and several bullet holes were visible in the driver's side of the truck.

The pickup truck driver was taken by Houston Fire Department paramedics to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.

Because the apparent shooting and crash took place so quickly, witnesses could not give officers a description of the vehicle or the driver or passengers inside.

i dont like driving through there during the day , much less at 1am
