Second Bill of Rights

Re: Second Bill of Rights
The problem here is you cannot define or quantify most of these rights
freedom from unfair competition
Fair is a concept we toss around as kids when we are not getting what we want. fair is not and will never be the same as equal
The right of every family to a decent home;
once again very subjective. Is a loveless marriage a decent home for a family? How about a military family where they must uproot their children every 5 years?
The right to a good education.
Who gets to define good? what is good for some may be poor for others. What if good includes a college education and I don't want to attend college. The government cannot take away my "negative" rights does it have a responsibility to force my "positive" rights on me?

Re: Second Bill of Rights
Having a right and taking advantage of that right are two different things. I wonder what they expect to jam down our throats with this sort of manifesto?

These addendums are both incomplete and boorish. There is not one mention of the rights to: chocolate; real butter'd popcorn cooked in coconut oil; and chicken fried steak.
I am not sure why, but all [abbreviated profanity deleted] the sudden I am quite hungry.

Uncle Sam consistantly violates the original bill of rights every day. Why not throw the tenth out completely?

and Obama once said: "I was a constitutional law professor, which means unlike the current president I actually respect the Constitution."

Re: Second Bill of Rights
A friend sent this to me on facebook. What a laugh. I don't know what's worse...the fact that she's filing the suite, or that she is doing it with a 2.7gpa. She just needs to drop the suite and call the White House. I'm sure Obama could use her to fill one of the open Czar positions. After all, she fits the qualifications to a tee..."no sense of personal responsibility"!boomerang wrote:Obama's Poster Child - http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/08/03/new.yo ... .graduate/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;"The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation;

Seriously, a 2nd Bill of Rights?? It's kind of like making new laws when all they need to do is enforce the old laws.

This is worse than communism. Under communism, the workers control the means of production, but they can still starve if they're lazy. Under Obamunism, even stupid, lazy people who sit on the couch and watch TV all day are entitled to "a decent home" and "food and clothing and recreation" and "medical care" just for voting for Obama.casingpoint wrote:or Second Communist Manifesto?

The 1936 Soviet Constitution, Article Twelve wrote:In the U.S.S.R. work is a duty and a matter of honor for every able-bodied citizen, in accordance with the principle: "He who does not work, neither shall he eat."
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
