The Austin Rifle Club just held their first action shooting match thru Austin Lone Star Practical Pistol Club this past weekend. There were over 70 participants. It was a HOT one, and it took a while to run the match with all those shooters, but I think everyone had a good time. ARC has pictures on their website.
With 5 pretty large bays for Action Shooting, they hope to add 3-gun, long gun, and steel challenge matches. Another group is going to introduce IDPA before too long. ARC is a private club but their matches are open to the public.
When they aren't holding matches, ARC has a pretty good shooting range. Lots of ranges for rifle, pistol and plinking in general.
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...
