Frankie Carter Randolph Park - Friendswood

Post by Bullitt »

I noticed a sign at the entrance to this municipal park saying no handguns allowed. It's not a 30.06 sign, and even so, the sign violates the state provision of not having more restrictive laws set by lower governing entities.

Comments? Legal or not? Consequences of CHL carry in the park if approached by LEO?

Thanks.

Like you said, it's govt owned, it's not 30.06

Carry past it and obey the laws. Officer demands I.D., present driver's license and CHL.

A slight correction; Frankie Carter Randolph Park is in Friendswood, but it's a Harris County park. As you noted, the sign means nothing for CHLs. It also pre-dates SB501 that precluded government agencies from using TPC §30.06.

I drive past this park every workday and have just noticed a big, new (or new to my observation) "No Firearms" sign on the park entrance under the Ghostbusters pistol sign which has been there for some time.

This made me wonder;

* Who is posting these signs?
* Do they have any legal bearing on persons with firearms in their vehicles (non-chl)?
* And if they have no legal effect on CHL holders and non-chl in-vehicle possession, who is posting these stupid signs and are my taxes paying for them? :banghead:
It is useless for the Sheep to circulate petitions calling for universal vegetarianism while the Wolves hold a different opinion.
