MN: CHL holder died with a full magazine

Post by seamusTX »

A man is on trial in St. Paul, Minnesota, for murder, armed robbery, and other offenses. He allegedly shot to death a robbery victim. The deceased man had a Minnesota concealed-carry license and a weapon, but he was not able to get off a shot.

The defendant says he shot in self-defense. Very chaotic situation.

they used to call it Murderapolis, instead of Minneapolis, and it's been a well known fact that St Paul was worse off.

my associates that live in Minne-snow-ta say there's a BIG meth problem there, attributes to a lot a crime, petty theft, and robberies of this ilk.

the snow, however, is beautiful.

Sad, but true. I used to live up in Duluth and in the outlying areas, there is a big Meth problem. It gets worse the further south you go. And the Twin Cities had gotten so bad, we referred to them as the "Twin (word that rhymes with Cities but begins with an 'sh' instead)"

Yes, the Snow is beautiful (within moderation). I have never lived in a more beautiful city than Duluth. But no jobs will kill any city.

My buddy Scott, whom I stayed with when I took the other picture, is originally from Duluth. He's tried to move back several times, but the job market has always turned him away.

back to the OP: I've heard the "experts" say is they have two options, shoot or move, they're moving first. the old adage "You have the rest of your life to deal with this threat" also comes to mind. I guess that's where moving while drawing, then shooting would be advantageous.

although, I'll give'em points for the Minnesota Wild pulling the shirt over the head!

Read the article with his side of the story.
That's really about the most contrived, cockamamie story one could ever come up with.

I agree, something doesn't make any sense.

The jury didn't buy any of it and nailed this guy:
Ronald R. Hill was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison [without parole] this afternoon in Ramsey County District Court of two counts of first-degree murder and two of second-degree murder in the death of Jeffrey R. Logan, who bled to death from gunshot wounds on a cold January night in an alley outside the Attucks-Brooks American Legion in St. Paul.

Hill, 21, of West St. Paul, also was found guilty of first-degree aggravated robbery of Earl Bronaugh, Logan's cousin who was standing beside Logan when Hill approached and demanded their wallets about 1 a.m. Jan. 31.

The defendant had stipulated to and was found guilty of possession of a firearm by an ineligible person.
The jury deliberated for two hours.

I don't know how you get four murder counts from one corpse. The law is bizarre sometimes.

One for each round?
Each round was a purposeful attempt to kill the guy. And he eventually succeeded... could be argued that way at least.

They really wanted to stick it to em apparently, and they did.
