Good word for Beltman gun belts....

Late last year I ordered and received a gun belt from Beltman. Since then I have lost a few pounds and needed it reduced by 4 inches...I ran out of holes. I sent it off to him with 15 bucks and one week later have it back. The part that really makes me smile is that he went ahead and fixed some worn spots...scrapes and scuffs that had been caused by one of my holsters. The damage I had done to it was really bad and now the darned belt looks almost new again. Anyway...great service and great belts by him. I will be ordering another belt from there in the next month or so and highly recommend them.

I happened to pick up a Beltman at Champion Firearms in College Station when we were there for my cousin's graduation back in May. My first "gun belt" and I am amazed at the difference between this and a regular belt (I've started belt-carrying more because of how well it works and how much more comfortable such carry is with the right belt. I'm very impressed.

i have heard great reviews on the Beltman .
now that i have a couple of different holsters , it might be time to invest in a proper belt for them .

Thanks for the congrats. At 48 with high cholesterol and high blood pressure, being 80 -90 pounds over weight was sure to take me out well short of what I would consider old. I have more to go but feel much more energetic already. I don't really know when my weight went crazy on me. I just looked in the mirror one day and realized I was FAT...LOL.

Back on the belt topic, as others have posted in this forum before, there is no substitute for a properly made belt. I was pretty convinced a belt was just a belt until I ordered this Beltman on advice from others in here. My El Cheapo belt was allowing the holster to slide back and forth. It would, at times allow the holster to ride up and sometimes pull down. I was constantly adjusting and hiking my pants up. A good belt holds the weapon and my pants in place. I would never have believed it could make such a huge difference if I had not of experienced it for myself.
There are a few others who make good belts also...crossbreed(the supertuck folks), Tucker and a few others. I went with the beltman after several members here gave them very high marks. It does take him a month or so to get the belts to you but it is because he makes them to order by hand. Worth the wait...IMHO.

I have a velcro lined Beltman that supports a TuckerGunleather Silent Thunder IWB w/velcro clip. I like the rig...complete concealment with no visible clip. Beltman supplied a sheet of paper on which is listed some advice relative to proper care/maintenance of the belt. Nice touch.

I am considering getting the velcro set up for my next belt and holster purchase. Does the clip ever come loose from the velcro or try to work its way around the belt?

Thanks for the tip on Beltman's turnaround time on modifications. I really like my Beltman belt, and have not run out of holes yet, but am getting close and was considering simply ordering another one in the correct size, and returning mine for modification when necessary. Being a cheapskate this plan did not appeal to me, so knowing that you only had to wait a week is reassuring.

And congratulations on the weight loss. I have been a fat person all my life - nobody who knows me now realizes this - and it is a drag. At my last physical I got a nice pat on the head for loosing weight, but a talking-to about my blood pressure... the doctor looked at me with a look that said, "Now don't you go and have a stroke and die in my office, old man!" - but when I got the BP monitor and checked for myself, it was not that bad. What they call "white coat hypertension" I guess.

Hang in there! If you want no-salt recipes google DASH - it stands for something like "diet approach to 'something' high blood pressure" - NIH or somebody like that. Some of it is tasty - anything is tasty if you put enough cayenne on it.

Thanks for the encouragement Andrew. My doctor acted almost giddy at my appointment last week. She gave me a pat on the back and told me to keep up the good work...LOL. That was much better than the usual lectures about stroke and what not I used to get . I will check out the DASH google. My approach to no salt has been to spice up with other seasonings. Sometimes salt is the only thing that will work...LOL.

Just call them about your belt. Jim Spiedel is the feller I talked to. He is a nice guy. I paid 15 bucks...in cash...per his request and that covered shipping back to me. My belt was tapered which made it tricky. It has more taper on one side now than it does on the other but it is no noticeable when I am wearing it. I don't think he can go any more than 4 inches on a tapered belt without going to a larger buckle, which would look ridiculous. Anyway...give him a call. The number is on the web sight. Fifteen dollars sure beat throwing out an 85 dollar belt after 6 months.
