Texas City: Robbers on the prowl

Post by seamusTX »

Two armed robberies occurred Saturday evening around 9 p.m. at the Ashton Park Apartments in the 2800 block of 21st Street North and the Bay Pointe Apartments in t.he 2700 block of 13th Avenue North.

The robbers are described as "a thin, black man about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds. He had a red cloth over his face and was wearing a pair of dark sweatpants with the bottoms pulled up over his knees. The second suspect also was described as a thin, black man, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and about 130 pounds."

(Talk about needing some groceries.)

The second robbery was aborted when an unarmed neighbor confronted the robbers.

Anyone here wanna offer to run at a man armed with a rifle while only having bare hands?

Gutsy, but stupid.

It's amazing what people will do, probably without a lot of planning.

People have been known to disarm assailants after being shot or stabbed. I wouldn't bet on that outcome, but it happens.
