Gaines County Deputy Robert Alvarado has passed away.
Robert Alvarado passed away Today (Friday October 9, 2009) and the area emergency responders just escorted his body pas my house on the way back to Seminole. I didn't know Robert very well, we talked a bit and he was a nice guy. I would like to say that at times we did not see eye to eye but I always knew he was trying to make things better. He was a full time Gaines County Sheriff's deputy and a member of the Seminole Texas volunteer fire department. If he knew you needed help he would do everything he could for you. He had been very ill and was recently airlifted to Lubbock. He had double pneumonia and a staph infection. I would ask that everyone keep his family and coworkers in their prayers, I know channel 2 news (ABC?) from Midland/Odessa did a story about him but I didn't get to see it. If you wish to help his family I don't have any details but you can probably call the Gaines County Sheriff's office and they can provide the information needed to assist his family. Robert leaves behind a wife and three children, lots of friends and our county will miss him.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?
