Fear, anger, hatred, and greed. The devil's all-you-can-eat buffet.

I don't want to sound ignorant; but 100 yards with a shotgun? I would think that would be out of effective range even for magnum load of buckshot or a rifled slug. I have never deer hunted with a shotgun; only a Remington 30.06.

100 yards is usually given as the maximum limit for aimed shots with a shotgun. I don't know from personal experience. That's too far to walk to put up a target.
The poor kid was killed by a single pellet of buckshot. You don't get much worse luck than that.

In some states it is only legal to hunt with shotguns.Pete92FS wrote:I don't want to sound ignorant; but 100 yards with a shotgun? I would think that would be out of effective range even for magnum load of buckshot or a rifled slug. I have never deer hunted with a shotgun; only a Remington 30.06.
