Some of you may have seen my post in the General board:

Well I got a call this morning that the legal department has finally "officially" cleared my application, and that my license will be sent to the printer today!
I've been getting different information for the last two weeks as to where my application was - in the legal department, not in the legal department, we're not sure. I was started to get worried that my app was lost somewhere.
So yesterday I emailed my state representative asking for assistance. His legal aide contacted their liason in the DPS office and I got the phone call about 9:00 this morning. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.
I'm just happy it's being printed!

Re: Finally Sent for Printing
I think it was basically not understanding the ramifications and laws in another state. My position has always been that what happened in my out of state case was equvalent to a deferred adjudication in Texas, but because the other state called it and the process something other than "Deferred Adjudication", DPS said I did not qualify.longhornmike wrote:what in the world was their holdup?
When the new law passed on September 1 this year, making provisions for cases that have been "vacated, set aside, annulled, invalidated, voided, or sealed under any state or federal law", the question of whether my case was truly a "deferred adjudication" didn't really matter any more because according to the other state's law, my case records were "closed records", not available to the general public. There was a bit of trouble because of the wording "closed" versus "sealed", but DPS finally agreed that they are practically the same thing.
I think the most frustrating thing has been the time it takes to get a return phone call, sometimes 6 or 7 business days....but it will hopefully soon be water under the bridge...
