DE: Dog stabber of the week

I guess we need a new category.

In New Castle, Delaware, Wednesday, a woman tried to intervene in a domestic altercation involving an infant. The alleged perpetrator stabbed the woman's dog. The alleged perpetrator "was charged with felony cruelty to animals and six other offenses."

The dog was taken to an animal hospital. Its condition is not reported.

Ban knives!...that is obviously the only way to stop such incidents.

[Suspect], who the woman said appeared to be drunk, gave the baby to his girlfriend but then got mad because he thought the woman took his car keys. She told him he was wrong, and went back to her apartment.

A few moments later, the woman told police she heard Chopper barking in the living room. When she went to check on him, she saw [suspect] in her apartment, who then allegedly started stabbing Chopper with a pocket knife.

[Suspect] then left through a patio door. Police say [suspect] then called 911 to say someone was shooting at him in the complex. Police said that shooting never happened.

Chopper was taken to an animal hospital for emergency surgery. He was last reported in stable condition.

[Suspect] has been charged with cruelty to an animal, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, burglary, endangering the welfare of a child, falsely reporting an incident, and possession of marijuana.

That's why they call it "dope."
