Charles has become an icon in Texas.

He does more to support the right to keep and bear arms than any person I know.

He is the founder of TXCHLforum, a firearms instructor, a long-time Director of the NRA, and our new Executive Director of the Texas State Rifle Association.

Happy birthday, Charles. May many more be yet to come.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

Thanks folks, I really appreciate the good wishes. It was a great day! Martha and I met some friends for breakfast at 8:00 am, then all of us went to the range until 5:00 pm. We shot the new running targets, the Texas Stars, had lunch, then shot more. A lot of the wives, kids and other family members came and they had a good time too. It was actually more fun watching and helping them shoot.

It was a great day!
