This guy's mug shot kind of looks like "the lights are on, but there's no one home."

Does anyone think the time frame it took for the SWAT team to get to the huddled
students and faculty was excessive?

Gee, 2-1/2 hours. Ya think?

Campus carry in Virginia is legal, but it's against the rules. Faculty, staff, and students would be cast into the darkness if they were found to be in possession.

When seconds count, Va. SWAT is only hours away.

How do you miss with a rifle at classroom ranges?

Once again, I shall speculate.

This guy has never handled a gun in his life. He either grabbed a relatives hunting rifle or bought one off the shelf that looked deadly.

In any event, it turned out well for all. No one was injured and a lunatic is going to be out of circulation for a long time.
