First off, I see this is your first post. Welcome to the forum. :tiphat:

In Texas, you can legally open carry a rifle or shotgun. If you are meaning carry it in a case, then you should be able to, but it needs to be unloaded then (I believe.) Now, legal or not, you might raise someones concern and get called on, depending on your area you ride through. I would not think having a rifle cased would raise as much alarm as maybe you riding through town with a AR-15 strapped to your back.

One caveat, I am not a lawyer. Just my view of the statutes.

Again, welcome to the forum and enjoy!

I would love to see a picture of someone with an AR strapped to their back running down the road on their bike... In fact, maybe I'll have the better half take a picture of me with mine strapped to me! "rlol"

I carried a Mosin Nagant from a Fun Show to home (around 20 miles and thru many cities) and I've carried rifles over the shoulder to the range many times, never been stopped, but I think that's more luck than anything, sooner or later I'll probably get stopped, but I'm within the law.

Per Texas Penal Code you can carry a loaded long gun as long as you don't do so in a manner calculated to cause alarm (plus case law).

One thing to watch is city ordinances, which vary greatly across the state.
