The wait is over

Post by Mikel »

I got the following message when I tried to check on my status today:
"The data you have submitted indicates you may not be eligible for this service. Please verify the data submitted is correct. If you still cannot proceed, please contact DPS at 1-800-224-5744 or email chl@txdps.state.tx.us for more information.

I verified the info was correct and tried again and got the same message.

I phoned and the lady said my license was issued TODAY!!!

Here's a breakdown and story for those interested in reading.

-packet rec'd by DPS 04/7/2006

-around 05/18/2006 I get a "more info needed" letter stating that my work history or address history was not complete.

-re-sent package next day with complete, 9-year work history with address, phone numbers and notes on each time period.

-Got my PIN issued on 06/07/2006

-Liscense issued 07/31/2006

I'm really not sure what the hold-up was on the history so make sure you complete EVERYTHING entirely to avoid delays.

LOL,

Now I get the "processing" message again...hope she wasn't blowing smoke...I haven't had a good reason to go to Wal-Mart lately and kinda getting my hopes up.

I have found that this message is also displayed at times when the site's server is busy (handling too many requests I guess). Check back later in the day (or late in the evening) for the best chance at getting through without hinderance, but first thing in the mornings are prime times to get these kind of erroneous message responses.
