Winnie (Chambers Co.): Women blast away stereotypes

Post by seamusTX »

Winnie, Thursday -- A woman walked into a credit union, produced a pistol, and pulled off a successful robbery.

[The Cambers County Sheriff] described the woman as white, having long, dark brown hair, standing 5 feet tall and weighing 110 pounds.

Winnie is a small town on I-10 between Houston and Beaumont. This credit union is ideally situated for a quick getaway, maybe a mile from the entrance ramps of the interstate.

In the video from KFDM in Beaumont, the woman is holding the gun by the barrel... :confused5

Thanks for digging up that video.

If I had to guess, I would say that the pistol is an AirSoft gun. The way she was waving it around, it didn't seem to have the heft of a real, loaded pistol.

I never thought I would say this, but she needs to watch more crime shows.

The Chambers county SO announced an arrest in this case. A 24 yr old single mom.

Looks like they had the wrong lady (24 year old) first, then arrested a husband and wife team.

Just in case the Beaumont Enterprise story goes away, the original suspect, the local woman, was released. A man and woman from Louisiana with a history of armed robbery were arrested, and the man essentially confessed.

Looks like I was right about the quick-off-quick-on route on I-10.
