Texas and Kansas will have to have reciprocity, in other words, Kansas will have to specifically state that they recognise Texas' permit.
The most up to date info is on the DPS Website:
http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administra ... rocity.htm
According to that, the answer is (currently) no.
BUT! I see we just got Alabama a few days ago! That's good news!

Kansas law took effect on July 1, 2006. They are having trouble getting the program off the ground. I couldn't tell you how many (if any) licenses have been issued. The gov. there was really against this bill.

WHAT I HAVE HEARD
Is no Kansas CCW will be issued until January 1, 2007. They are to have a list of states they will honor by then and Texas should be on it. Check the TDPS web site for facts. This is all hear-say and opinion.
Travelling in Kansas
I'm planning on travelling, by car, to Kansas this coming weekend. Is it legal, then, to at least carry through Oklahoma and put it in a locked container out of reach, while in Kansas? I may be staying in K.C. over night, and I think it's legal in Missouri, but what about the city, itself?
Edit: I do have a valid Texas CHL.

No carry in Kansas at this point. It is legal in Missouri and Oklahoma with your Texas CHL. As far as Kansas City, it depends on which side of the river your on. West Kansas, East Missouri. Your OK in your hotel on both sides of the river. Make sure your aware of state specific laws. you can check

I have not checked it for accuracy. You can also check the state websites. I have not been able to pull up packing.org. I know he has been busy with school. Hope this helps.
