One of our instructors will be along shortly w/ a good answer for you.
Were you fingerprinted in the MIP incident?
Either way you are OK w/ the paper work for sure. As long as these are all.

MIP is a class C offense. It's no worse than a speeding ticket.

Re: Yes,Im a harden criminal...
I seem to remember something about "alcohol-related offenses" having some bearing on that MIP... but you should be way past the wait limit.

I got an MIP in college and I definately had to declare it on my application, and get the Port Aransas City Court to send a letter saying that they had to record of it, man that Spring Break Trip ended up being a huge hassle...

Re: Yes,Im a harden criminal...
Had a similar problem when I applied for my CHL. Was arrested when I was sixteen in California for carrying a knife (It was not concealed). I was released after a couple of hours, no charges were filed.
However had to get a letter from the county saying there were no charges on file. Took about two months calling, and mailing stuff back and forth.
Never mentioned what I wanted the letter for, or I'm sure I'd still be waiting on it.
Seems to me it could have been handled with a simple phone call, but DPS puts the burden back on you to prove there are no issues.
Got my CHL two weeks after sending in the letter.

I have a couple of blemishes like that in my youth. I didn't bother mentioning it and it took almost six months to get my CHL. A friend of mine had many blemishes in his past. He wrote out explanations of everything along with any corresponding paper work and got his in six weeks.

If you list it, you will need paperwork stating disposition.
If you have no paperwork, you will have to get it.
If you think there is no record, I would not list it.
It only delays the process.
If they come up with something, you will get a letter stating exactly what you need.
This letter looks really offical and I think it helps the confused people in the records dept. give you exactly what you need the first time without back n forth.
This from experience in similar matters.
Good Luck

Re: Yes,Im a harden criminal...
My son while in college was busted for less than an ounce of pot, they stopped him at a check point and found a small butt in the ashtray, he was charged with a class c misdemeanor and got deferred adjudication. This happened about 3 years ago. Since then he's grown up, got married a couple of years ago, and just had a baby. He asked me if he could get his CHL with this offense I couldn't answer. Anybody know? Would he have to wait the 4 year period?

Let um look and if they find something to question I’d provide the requested supporting documents.
